"A Sunday well spent brings a week of content"

The weekend is meant for relaxation, good company, and my favorite, brunch! One of the reasons why I love San Diego so much is that there are plenty of options for brunch all over the city, especially in Downtown San Diego! From American, Mexican, Italian, and more, it’s definitely difficult to pick where to take your friends or family for a weekend brunch outing. To help with your decision making, I have made a list of my 5 favorite brunch spots found in Downtown San Diego in no particular order! Take a look below!

Cafe Chloe

721 9th Ave. | San Diego, CA 92101

Located just across the street from our East Village office on G street, is a urban neighborhood cafe called Cafe Chloe. They offer an elegant and classy Italian menu and the brunch menu changes ever so slightly through the seasons. It is perfect for your puppy best friend as well as it has a dog-friendly patio. With great food and impeccable service, this spot is great for those who desire something a bit more low-key and quieter.

Bottega Americano

1195 Island Ave. | San Diego, CA 92101

Bottega Americano is one of my favorite restaurants of Downtown San Diego! Located in East Village, with their brass and copper light fixtures to their marble tables, this place is one of the trendiest spots with plenty of open space and seats. Brunch is served from 10am to 3pm on  Saturdays and Sundays.

Some suggestions! If you are not too hungry, opt for their avocado toast! If you want to go all out, try their amazing steak and eggs! My drink of choice for brunch is their Bottega Bellini!

The Mission SD - East Village

1250 J St. | San Diego, CA 92101

If you are looking for a more traditional diner, brunch experience, look no further than The Mission SD! They have 3 locations, but this specific one is located in East Village. Not only can you find the traditional bacon, pancake, and eggs, you can also find mexican breakfast plates like their mission chilaquiles!

Note! Their rosemary bread or rosemary potatoes are to die for! Order some on the side if it doesn’t come with your plate!

Cafe 21

802 Fifth Ave. | San Diego, CA 92101

Cafe 21 is up on the list of my 5 favorite brunch spots of Downtown San Diego. One of my favorite things about this particular establishment is their option for a mimosa flight or their sangria bar! One of their unique food items is their potato pancake, as well as their twist on the classic eggs benedict! You can also never go wrong with pancakes or french toast!

Searsucker

611 Fifth Ave. | San Diego, CA 92101

Searsucker is absolutely gorgeous! It’s interior and atmosphere is hip and trendy so it’s no surprise there is always a wait for this great brunch spot! They have a Dr.Seuss inspired dish called “Green Eggs and Ham” which I believe is so unique! If you like something sweet, I suggest you get a sticky bun.  Warning! It’s fairly large and one order is good for two people or more!
