An exciting new development in Cortez Hill is pending approval! Narven Enterprises, a San Diego based real estate management and investment firm, has proposed a 16-story all suites hotel located on 5th Avenue and Ash Street. Highlights of the hotel include a rooftop sky bar and lounge area, as well as a pool deck.

Narven Enterprises is planning to have the project formally approved by March or April, after which they will begin the designing process. The end goal is to have the hotel up and running by 2020.

Part of the designing process has begun, with plans for a split level rooftop deck. The 15th floor deck level will feature a bar and lounge area, and the 16th floor will feature a pool deck.

Details:

  • 156 rooms – all suites
  • 300 to 350 square feet per room
  • Approximate nightly room rates between $229 and $289
  • Restaurant for guests and the public
  • Split level rooftop deck
  • Bar and lounge area
  • Pool deck

Currently, the site is being utilized as a surface level parking lot. The lot is about 10,000 square feet, which Civic of San Diego board members say is an appropriate space for the project.

It’s not yet known if the hotel will be independently run, or operated by a current hotel brand. The hotel market in San Diego is steady, with many new developments underway. Narven Enterprises begins this project just as they complete their 98-room TownePlace Suites hotel at 1445 Sixth Avenue.
