June 2020 Housing Market – Downtown San Diego Condo Market

Over the last 2 months, the number of sales has dropped drastically and the inventory continues to rise. The good news is the Downtown San Diego housing market is beginning to gain momentum. In May, we saw a 72.7% increase in the number of homes to go into escrow when compared to April. June should have a strong month of sales and hopefully that continues to be the case.

Due to the fact that the number of sales has been drastically lower than normal, the number of total properties on the market continues to grow. This is increasing inventory fairly quickly. I think the “V shape” that you hear so frequently may be accurate when you analyze the real estate trends. A number of graphs depict this “V shape” we have been hearing about and I predict it will hold true regarding the number of sales throughout the month of June.
