Liberty Public Market is an amazing addition to San Diego!
One thing Seattle is known for is Pike Place Market. It is an amazing concept that many people in San Diego thought would work well here. Blue Bridge Hospitality, managing partner of Liberty Public Market, heard the call and decided to fill that void! The restaurant group is known for their other ventures, such as MooTime Creamery, Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge, Village Pizzeria, and Stake Chophouse & Bar.

Liberty Public Market:
- 26 Local Artisans
- Open 7 days a week
- Minimum Hours: 11am-7pm
- 2820 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106
What I like about it.
The first thing was the variety. They have Thai food to burgers and everything in between. Liberty Public Market even includes shops that sell healthy pet food and supplies, organic produce, sweets, and organic juice. Whether you are grabbing lunch with the office or meeting with friends, Liberty Public Market is great because it doesn’t require a vote on what to eat. There is something for everyone. You can grab your food and enjoy it together at several different indoor and outdoor seating options.
The market also offers several fantastic options to buy fresh meats and produce to cook at home. Liberty Meat Shop is a local butcher that offers top quality meats at a reasonable price. Visit FishBone Kitchen for some fresh fish. Garden Fresh displays fresh produce and offers some exotic options, such as Japanese white radishes, red Russian kale and black-eyed pea sprouts. Baker & Olive, which also has a location in Del Mar and Encinitas, has assorted spices, salts, jams, olive oils and balsamic vinegar from Italy. You can also pick up local sauces and seasonings at Pacific Provisions.
Liberty Public Market also includes excellent beer and wine options. Bottlecraft opened up it’s 3rd location here, which includes a great tasting bar rotating 24 craft beers on draft and over 500 options of some of the best beer! Grape Smuggler will feature over 500 different bottles of wine, as well as offer a revolving menu of “by-the-glass” options.
