Bosa Development plans another project along San Diego’s bay front!

Bosa Development is currently in escrow on Parcel 1, which was once part of the Santa Fe Depot. Bosa has already constructed three projects on the previously owned railroad land. These projects consist of The Grande North, The Grande South, and Bayside.

Parcel 1 is currently owned by the Irvine Company, who had plans for a 34-story building that would consist of 680,000 square feet of class-A office space. They have since decided to focus on their assets in the UTC area and sell the land to Bosa Development. Before closing escrow on the land, Bosa will appear before City Counsel and the Planning Commission this fall. The land will need to be rezoned from office to residential. If everything goes well, Bosa plans to have the project completed by 2020.

top-bway-pac_t837Kohn Peterson Fox, a New York based architecture firm, will be designing both Parcel 1 and Parcel 9. The current design shows 3 layers of curved glass towering 490 feet high and an auto court and residential lobby on the North side. The complex is planned to consist of 296 units spread throughout 45 floors. It will include 473 parking spaces and 77 motorcycle spaces. This complex has a higher density than its neighboring project, Pacific Gate, directly South. These two towers feature similar design concepts and they will frame Broadway as two iconic towers.
