2019 Quarter 4 Downtown San Diego Market Update
The final quarter of each year typically has the least amount of activity. Quarter 4 of 2019 was no exception. In Quarter 3, there were 187 sales compared to 153 in quarter 4. That was 18.18% less for the quarter, but the number of available listings was also down by 21.94%.
If we compare quarter 4 to 2018’s Q4, we had 3.38% more sales in Downtown San Diego. On top of that, we entered 2020 with 65 properties in escrow. That’s an increase of 35.42%!
In 2019, there were a total of 695 sales on the multiple listing service (MLS) in Downtown San Diego. In 2018 there were 793 sales. That means we saw a 12.4% less sales in 2019 vs. 2018. That is a drastic difference. That doesn’t take into consideration any new construction sales. There were approximately 225 new construction sales between Savina and Pacific Gate.
