It’s finally December, which means we still have beautiful mid 60 to 70 degree weather but now with the excuse to wear winter jackets and drink egg nog! Although we can hardly call this season “winter” in San Diego, there is plenty to do to this season. From parades, light shows, a special holiday performance, to a winter wonderland themed zoo, the winter events in San Diego seem endless.

One event that I am extremely excited to go to is the San Diego Union Tribune Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade presented by VCA Market Street Animal Hospital. This is the 9th year that the parade has been put on, and I can see why it has been so successful. Who doesn’t love seeing cute pets donned in holiday costumes? There is even a costume contest where pet owners and pets can compete for categories such as; best ugly holiday sweater, best costumed duo, or cutest critter. Some information to pet owners, if you would like to participate in the parade there is a $15 advance fee and a $20 fee on the day of the event. However, the best part is that the event is free to those who want to just watch! Heads up, the best place to see the pet parade are along 4th and 5th Avenues between E and K Street from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm. Arrive early to get a great spot to watch!
