Little Italy Dog Park at Amici Park

The Little Italy Dog Park at Amici Park is a medium-sized, enclosed grassy area for your pup to run freely and play catch. It is located at the heart of Little Italy, near the Little Italy Farmer’s Market, which takes place every Saturday. Because it is a certified off-leash area, you are not at risk of your dog running off. The park is a schoolyard during the day, but is open to the public after 2 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
The Little Italy community is currently raising funds to make further improvements to the dog park. Improvements will include:
- K9Grass by ForeverLawn
- Granite terrain
- Designated small dog area
- Additional shady sitting areas
- Well-maintained landscape.
You can donate by visiting their website (Click Here).
This park is the perfect place to spend a Saturday with your pup and enjoy the delicious food at the farmer’s market just down the street!
Nate’s Point Dog Park

Nate’s Point Dog Park is an off-leash park sized at about 2.3 acres, located in Balboa Park. The owner, Nate Wells, is an employee for the City of San Diego, and transformed the park on his own time. It was established in 1996 and is one of the most well known dogs parks in the San Diego area. It is completely fenced, so owners can allow their dogs to roam freely without worry.
The park includes:
- Water stations
- Picnic tables
- Doggy bags
- Double entry gate
Also, new trees have recently been planted to provide more shade on warm San Diego summer days. This is a great location to see many dogs of all shapes and sizes running around happily!
